Sewing Center ~ Empowering Young Women with Life Sustaining Skills
In 2018 while praying for Africa I felt that I wanted to do something special for the girls. I wanted to make purses for them, and I told the Lord so. I felt him speak to me. Yes you can do that, but why don’t you teach them to make the purses. Thats when He spoke this to my heart, “ give a man a fish you fed him for the day, teach a man of fish you fed him for a lifetime. '' Once again, I quickly said yes Lord. ''
From that point on the Lord started leading me and preparing me towards the opening of our very first Sewing Center. We opened on June 15 in 2020 in KaWempe, Uganda. We started with 10 girls that God handpicked. When the students have completed the six-month course, they receive a certificate of completion that enables them to obtain a job or open up a business for themselves. We not only give them a skill, but we implement the gospel of Jesus Christ. We do this by being his hands and feet, by building relationships with them, and by giving them support in every part of their lives. We are empowering young women with life sustaining skills. We are seeing a revival in the form of a Sewing Center.
